Day 1 wrap up

Day 1 is done! We experimented a lot today and finished the drums for 4 tracks. We finished around 22:30 and ordered some tasty stuff from a chinese restaurant in Malmédy. We're back in our house now gathering inspiration for tomorrow.

First takes

We had some trouble with our internet connection today, but we are back online. Meanwhile, we started recording the drums for "Give in", "Concrete walls", "Keep it" and "Come for you". You see, we were pretty busy today.

Lento in heaven

Lento was having lots of fun today exploring the complex structures of Stoner Rock bass-lines.

Sam on the floor

Unfortunately, Sam has a bit of trouble with his back, that's why he spends most of his few breaks lying on the ground.

Setting up the bass (and more drums)

We are currently working on the bass sound. By the way, the black thing on which Lento is standing is not a Hoverboard, but a vibrating platform. Besides the fact that he looks like a G.I. Joe action figure taken out of the package, this platform makes him feel the drum and bass while playing with headphones. Now THAT'S science-fiction!

Studio testing

We finally made it to the studio and started to set up the drum sound and guitar and bass amps. In a couple of hours we will start the recordings. We will try to record the first song "Give in" live, to get the energy right on tape...or hard disk to be more correct.

Early birds

We got up early today, well, for musician standards, and Sam made his famous eggs sunny side up. We got an early visit from the house-cat, that seemed to like the smell of Sam's eggs. After that, we were off to the studio around 09:30.

Our Little House on the Prairie

Here are some impressions of our little cottage 5 minutes from the studio (with deer inclusive). See you tomorrow...

Arrival at the studio

Hi there! We arrived at La Chapelle Studios tonight at 19:00 and put our stuff in place. We already set up the drums so that we can start tomorrow morning. After all this, we drove to our house where we will live the next 8 days.

Recording the piano

The recordings to our 4th album have officially started yesterday evening. We recorded the piano for 3 songs at Mich's place. Thanks to Marc for stopping by and tuning the piano. And of course Sam, who will spent the next entire week with us at the studio.

Tomorrow evening, we will move to a belgian small-town called Waimes, where we will be recording the entire album in the marvelous "La Chapelle Studios". See you tomorrow...
