Art

Recording in a studio can be very boring if you play the one instrument that's not needed right now.

Musicians find different solutions for that. James used his time to do something creative. By now, some of us wish he didn't.

Wait for the ending and pump up the volume.

Backup plan

Because of the guitar incident (in German: "Klampfen-Desaster"), we decided that Mich was the right person to save the day! So he went and recorded the tambourine for "Sarcasm rules the world" and "Keep it".

What's wrong with these 2 pictures?

For all the mystery fanboys: Now what's wrong wit these 2 pictures?

Yes, in one picture there's a string missing.

And yes, in the other picture there's a package with a string missing. Guitars usually happen to have 6 strings.

The story behind it is the following:

Daniel must have been a little bit brutal with his guitar and broke a string. "Let's change it" he thought and took the spare set of strings he bought a couple of days ago. As he opened it, he discovered that one string was missing.

You know what's coming, don't you? Yes you do.

The one string he needed was nowhere to be found. Someone must have stolen it from the shop he bought it in.

Which leads us to the moral of the story:

God is a sadist.

You've heard it here first...

Finally Daniel has started working

His Majesty, Daniel has started recording acoustic guitars for "If Orgasms Ruled the World"

Looking to get the right bass sound

We tested different bass sounds for the song "Walk under water". At one point, we even tried to replace the bass guitar by an old Hammond organ, as shown in the following video...

...and decided not to.

Meanwhile in the control room...

While Mich is playing his ass off, the boys have fun hanging around and talking nonsense in the control room.

Finishing the drums

We spent most of the day finishing up the drums so far. 1 track left, then Mich can take a small break.

Day 2

Hi there! We started today with Sam's legendary eggs (the extra ingredient is...wait for it...butter. Who would have expected this?). To worship Sam's cooking, we drove to the pharmacy to get some serious stuff to fight his back pains.

Right now, we have already started recording and Mich played the drums for 2 songs, "Satellites" and "Sarcasm rules the world". We're progressing...

Day 1 wrap up

Day 1 is done! We experimented a lot today and finished the drums for 4 tracks. We finished around 22:30 and ordered some tasty stuff from a chinese restaurant in Malmédy. We're back in our house now gathering inspiration for tomorrow.

First takes

We had some trouble with our internet connection today, but we are back online. Meanwhile, we started recording the drums for "Give in", "Concrete walls", "Keep it" and "Come for you". You see, we were pretty busy today.

Lento in heaven

Lento was having lots of fun today exploring the complex structures of Stoner Rock bass-lines.

Sam on the floor

Unfortunately, Sam has a bit of trouble with his back, that's why he spends most of his few breaks lying on the ground.
