Dear diary

To all dear readers of our blog: we had a great time recording and blogging over the last 9 days.

You surely wonder how it will go on with the recordings and everything else. Well, that's not a secret at all: we will continue recording vocals and accordion (yes, accordion...) in Luxembourg during the next weeks.

Werner Pensaert will be mixing the album starting September 6th at Audioworkx in the Netherlands. If we are lucky, we will release it mid-November. But you know how luck works...

We will be blogging every step of the completion of our album and let you know how we're progressing.

Thank you for now, we'll be back soon and we hope that you had fun reading all this.

So long,

Daniel

Saying goodbye

Thanks to Stijn and Tine, we had a really great and comfortable time at LaChapelle.

Sam as we will remember him...in his yellow shirt.

James and Daniel doing the "show me the love" thing.

Packing our stuff and leaving

We spent over an hour cleaning up the studio in order that Stijn doesn't need to spent the next days to erase the chaos we've created during the last 9 days.

Vero and the Mikes...actually a great name for a band...

Mikes without Vero...actually a very bad name for a band...

James jiggling his stick.

Daniel standing around looking busy so that others do the work.

James in blurry black&white action.

Daniel, prince of darkness.

Recordings at LaChapelle completed!

We stopped our recordings at LaChapelle tonight. We did an enormous amount of work in the last 9 days and we leave the studio with a thrill of anticipation for the rest of the recordings and the mixing process in early September.

Sam closing the studio session.

It's getting late...again

No, Daniel is not sleeping in this picture. He's actually listening to the tracks he recorded. Wow, this guy is very focused! James in the background on the other hand...

If you wonder how Sam managed to grow this tall, it's his daily ration of M&M's.

Vero and Mich are really sleeping. See the difference?

Day 9 - last day at LaChapelle

Oh boy, it's already the last day and there's so much left to do. We did a great amount of vocals today, as well as little percussion things. In the picture: Mich shaking his ass of...

...while others did a serious amount of reading.

James doing some backing vocals.

James laughing while playing on a crappy banjo.

Leaving our house on the prairie

We packed our stuff today and had to leave our wonderful little idyllic house where we slept and lived the last 9 days. (To get into the right mood while watching these pictures, put on a record with decent music with lots of strings in it)

Damn, that's so touching...

Say goodbye to Anis the house cat.

So long and thanks for all the fish!

Mich in a very melancholic mood.

James drinking coffee while hiding his tears.

Daniel in melodramatic poses...with deer.

The fine art of cooking

Tine and Stijn went totally crazy with the cooking today and made an enormous fish for us.

Fish, also known as meat for vegetarians.

Working late again and exploring sounds...of crap

After long and exhausting day, we used the time late at night to try a few sound extravaganzas. We spent almost an hour to find a right way to record a Kalimba before we decided that it sounded like "hey, let's do something very cool!" but it just didn't sound right for the song.

In this picture: Mich sausage-fingers.

Looks arty, right?
